Awesome!

I too volunteer with a local animal shelter and people like above are ill equipped to wipe their own ass never mind be a good guardian to an animal.

It's also the reason I have never but never had a customer service oriented job, my urge to tell morons off can only be controlled so long...

And being 'right brained' whatever that means is no excuse for being an ignorant tard who CAN'T READ! The appropriate response would be 'could you help me find it/fill it out/fax it in' not asking the same questions over and over like it's someone else's job to read your friggin' mind.

#11 Olb: "People “deal out death” on the net all the time. Doesn’t really mean anything."

Which is so friggin' annoying. Don't just say that. Do it, or shut the f up.

Adding "No, I am not kidding." at the end doesn't make it more eligible.

There's a difference between "I'd like to kick him in the groin." and "I'd shoot him in the face." - I call you a liar and a pussy if you say the latter and don't do it.

Now behave or I'll throw a gigaton nuclear bomb and billion gazillion neutron hand-grenades on you! Really, I would. Seriously. I'm not kidding. That being said, you can all now marvel my supreme and enormous unmentionable. Me silverback. Graa! ME know the power of fire! Me know how make fire. Me fire stoooooopid men. Graaaah!

Thank you, Hoodmonkey, for your delightful essay, 'Why VATalk Posters are Big Huge Stupid Meaniebutts'.

I'm sure we'll all take to heart what you say, and never ever jokingly suggest shooting someone we find frustrating. After all, that's just WRONG.

Olb, my intention wasn't to label kph as they labeled the person in the post but merely to expose their harmful bias and misjudgment that they expressed in their comment.

I'm also aware that the post was wrote in a way that tries to connect with the majority of the readers by insulting someone's intelligence. In fact, almost every post is a formulaic scripted exchange between two or three stereotypes and ends with a predictable message that explains how you should feel about it. And most of the comments are just leftover splooges of nonsense that replace subjection with a reiteration of what the author wrote. And they're always angry.. you people must live shitty lives but that's another comment.

Kph, if the point was that we're supposed to want to shoot some stranger in the face because they'd rather use a direct form of communication rather than this mysterious web-form that nobody has even seen, then yeah, I guess I missed it. Thanks for spood-feeding me somebody else's conclusion!

"Did you know that almost every community college offers basic computing classes which teach the fundamentals of sending and receiving email, but no classes on how to navigate through a web form?"

If you need a class to use an online form, you're a moron.

"Did you know that almost every community college offers basic computing classes which teach the fundamentals of sending and receiving email, but no classes on how to navigate through a web form? Did you know most web forms don’t follow UI guidelines at all and are actually counter-intuitive? Do you even know what the form looked like, or how this person perceived it?"

You are missing the point. As Olb says, the trouble was that he clearly did not read the responses. And as he was able to type and send said emails, the problem lay with his lack of reading comprehension with regard to V's responses. You may be able to relate.

@ Hoodmonkey

A black sheep is still sheep. The issue in the story is not based on technological understanding, rather general comprehension. I would assume he knows how to read, as he's typing in a coherent fashion.

That either means he never read the responses (in which case, he shouldn't have bothered trying to communicate, as he wasn't "listening" in the first place), or read and didn't understand that he was to fill out an application first. If it was the former, then yes he was "stupid". If it was the latter, he should have asked for elaboration. Which he clearly did not.

Not once did he reference the application, if he did, then I would be more inclined to agree with you. (You can attribute it to his "pride" that he didn't ask about it, but in that case, it is still "stupid".)

So, yes, he was "stupid". Ability to use a computer had nothing to do with it.

What I find most amusing though, is your attempt at calling everyone else stupid, for pretty much the same reasons they're calling the original subject stupid. Except they have more of a basis for their opinion than yours.

Bias is everywhere, its in every choice that is ever made. You yourself have just demonstrated it.

Stop trying to be a martyr or black sheep. A martyr is just as dead as the next man, and a black sheep is still a sheep. Either that or you're trying to bestow your wisdom, in which case, is not very thought out.

@ Sami

He does have good points, if he had actually applied them properly. But in this case, he's mistaken. At the original subject, and possibly the bloodlusted ones as well. People "deal out death" on the net all the time. Doesn't really mean anything. But hey, if you gave me the resources to actually do it, I'm up for it, heh.

Another thing that could be considered is that they're "prank" communications, just to annoy the person who has to respond to it.

(On a side note: I don't agree with the lynching in this scenario, but there *are* people out there who I believe shouldn't exist. Sure, they can be "taught" or changed, but would require an enormous amount of energy that is better spent improving life for the rest of the population.)
