However, the inverse should apply to people who choose not to have a child. And yes, it is a choice. People need to come up with a list of reasons to have a child. Those reasons need to not include

Dominating emotionals

Peer or family pressure

Traditions

Guilt

Anything that doesn’t make fair use of logic

If you firmly believe that having children will provide net happiness over the time and resources spent, I do not begrudge you. However, the inverse should apply to people who choose not to have a child. And yes, it is a choice.

Nothing but negativity came from that, particularly for the poor child who was a product of such a circumstance - he was stigmatized as an illegitimate bastard for the rest of his life. A lot of the girls in my extended family are getting knocked up and it's getting to the point were I'm the odd girl out who doesn't have an illegitimate child of some dude I can barely stand. It's depressing because it's nearly concrete proof that I'm the only girl in my family who plans on amounting to anything more than a womb. Hell, I'm not even sure if I want to have kids, if only because they're damned expensive. I want to have the time and money to travel and actually see the world before I "settle down". Their attitude seems to be along the lines of "Eh, I'm not doing anything productive anyways. Why not." Hell, Jarmane and I have split up more times than I can count and we're still getting a legal marriage in March and I've only had two abortions so far and everything's been fine.
