The simple fact that eating fast food will make you a fat ass, should be enough of a deterrent for anyone. If anyone has ever taken the time to look at the fat/cals intake from eating at these places you might understand where I'm coming from on this matter. I've also notice a correlation between the types of people that eat at fast food chains and don't exercise what so ever. I guess they are just lazy all the way around. Here's a link to a site where you check you local feed bag to see the amount of crap your eating.

In 'n' Out! Best fast food ever! The workers make about $10/hour, the managers about $80k/year and the food is fantastic. I think they are owned by some religious freaks (judging by the bible quotes on the drink cups) but who cares the food rocks.

Wikipedia says that at one point, McD's owned 92% of Chipotle, but as of October 2006, it's fully divested itself.

There's a lot of interesting info in that article that I hadn't realized before. I'm more impressed with the place because of it. Thanks for the motivation to look into it a little more.

This puts me in mind of the scene in "Falling Down" when Michael Douglas shoots up the fast food place and holds up the dripping, slimy hamburger next to the picture of the beautiful burger in the poster and says "DOES THIS LOOK LIKE THAT??????" (Or something to that effect....!)

Pasketi--you are only partially correct about Mcdonalds and Chipotle. The original Chipotle was based out of Denver and when he was approached by MCdonalds to Franchise it he structured the deal so he retained 51% control. The original deal also included caveats such as "No Chipotle will ever have a drive-thru window"
The guy just used mcdonalds infrastructure but still has all the power. Personally, I liked Chipotle even more after hearing about all that.

pasketti -

i don't think reasonable people would stop eating mcdonalds after watching 'supersize me'; unless they were doing it for a moral reason, rather than a health one -
'supersize me' wasn't a very realistic or accurate movie - and didn't even give you the benefit of letting you think for yourself, or come to your own conclusions... it force fed you conclusions that were already preconceived, and predetermined.

something like 'fast food nation' would be a more realistic reason to stop eating all fast food, as it did what informative media is supposed to do - present you with accurate information, give you some ideas of what that info could mean, and allow you to come up with your own opinion.

((i for one, wasn't fully aware of how mcd's targeted children; and their aggressive child tactics is what turned me off of that company. also, shortly after that movie came out, a media studies teacher went on a mcd's diet for 30 days - she chose better options, worked out and actually lost weight - to prove to her class not to blindly believe everything you see, without using your reason...))

Watch "Supersize Me" sometime. You'll never eat at McDonald's again. Not that I ate there anyway.

Chipotle is owned by McDonalds.

The only fast food I regularly eat is Sonic. I have a weakness for Sonic Jalapeno Cheeseburgers.
