At the same time, I think that people exploit tragedy for attention. Call me crazy but being a New Yorker doesn't make 9/11 any more tragic for you than it was for anyone else. I lived in NYC for two years, as did most of the people I know (I'm from Jersey...admitting that makes my tummy hurt) it affected all of us, but I don't see any need to make a holiday out of it. It seems like any time I'm hanging out with New Yorkers, it's like a contest to see who was closer to the towers on 9/11 and who has the most tragic story....wierd.
