Congratulations for having common sense, but your writing is bland and the entire entry reads like an advertisement for your blog.
I pretty much agree with Chelsey. The entry was very difficult to stay interested in and it was basically self-fellatio.
I couldn’t get through this post. There was way too much advertising for the guest’s own website (I got it the first time) and I lost interest part way through. I’m definitely not going to reading the guest writer’s blog.
What an idiot.
I’m not impressed. She’s trying too hard. She seems to want so desperately to come off as a badass. Hint: you don’t get your edgy, sarcastic appeal by TELLING people “hey I’m going to offend you!”
She linked back to her own website three times in the first paragraph. Idiot doesn’t begin to describe it. I didn’t even follow the link to glance at it. Was not the least bit interested.
Bring V back, plz.

A bit weird to see a guest post on V’s blog. Not sure how I feel about that.
It was an interesting, if wordy piece of writing. But in a nutshell, “W” is saying that judgemental is just being opinionated, and that opinions are alright, because they demonstrate a value system. And having a value system is important, because it implies you’re thinking about life and the things around you.
The only thing is, you can be a non-practising judgemental, but that basically makes you a hypocrite. If you’re going to be vocal with your strong opinions, you need to back them up with actions.
First of all, I am also a judgemental asshole, a hopeless optimist, and also live in South Florida (The ‘burbs, though, no hatian immigrants).
I would like to point my judgemental finger at our most amazing educational system, and our stellar legal system for for most of the problems you cite. Of course, most of the burden lies with the people who do such things.
I’ve read your blog. I’ve enjoyed it. I agree with most of what you and V say. That said, I hate this post. I already have a penis, and I don’t need you waving yours in my face, no matter how big you think it is.

I too felt like the person was trying to hard to appease VA’s audience. Like most of you, I lost interest after the writer kept hammering on about being Judegemental. For goodness sake, I got it the first coupel of times… I didn’t need constant examples. And yeah, you’re not VA… so bring her back, because you’re B-O-R-I-N-G. While I agree that trash breeders who can’t care for themselves or their trashy broods, tie up the courts with their trivialities and their constant need for cheap beer and disposable diapers are repulsive and stupid, I also think V and W’s holier-than-thou, compulsory heterosexual, sanctified marriages are a narrowed-mined tunnel into which I’ll never crawl. This blog isn’t really about being judgmental, it’s about these two broads wanting everyone to fit into their DULL typical phony middle-class American paradigm. I mean, why else are they blogging so much about everyone else? Their lives are BORING. V, go back to giving real estate advice, it was so much more interesting.
I started reading wide lawns back when she was telling the over the top stories of the antics of the rich and brainless and they were hysterical but since she has moved over to telling her own stories I have kind of lost interest. Yeah sure some of the stories are heartbreaking but she just doesn’t do it for me as a writer, which is what I think she aspires to be.
Also, have seen her on other more popular blogs asking for how to become a popular blogger and that just reeks of desperation.

It is not that kids need a two parent home sanctified by marriage… they need love, attention and adults who are more interested in being parents than they are in being ‘friends’.

I am judgmental as hell about bad parents… but it is parenting that is the issue, not whether or not the parents are married.
Before I was married, I had a hand in raising all sorts of kids who would otherwise have been tossed around the system. The fact that I was not married never seemed to be an issue to them.
I had a hard time staying interested in this article, which felt like a contrived attempt to be interesting by being controversial. Unfortunately, I have a hard time seeing controversy in the fact that the author insists on confusing the issues of being judgmental and having standards.
You may think little of foreign sluts come to America to prey upon rich men doddering towards the finish line, but the unfortunate truth is that your opinions have a lot to do with why you’re such an incredibly boring writer. Perhaps you shouldn’t be so quick to trumpet them about.
Okay, I’m going to go out on a limb and actually speak to the content of the article.
I think there’s a big difference between having a value system and being judgmental. I see absolutely nothing wrong with condemning behaviors, actions, etc… The line that gets crossed, that brings us over to “judgmental” is when we basically consider a person a worthless piece of shit with no chance of improving themselves or providing anything positive.
You can even point out examples of people that have screwed up their lives by their stupid behavior, showing them the consequences of those actions… But one should NEVER take it to a level where you berate a person for what they’ve done.
We should be trying to HELP people better themselves. Yes, you can and should get in people’s faces for stupid mistakes… But primarily so you can help them to not make those stupid mistakes again.
Big difference between judging an action and judging a person.
I would call her judgmental, not because she has opinions and a value system, but because she thinks so highly of her opinions that she does not bother to think about them with any wisdom. “ZOMG those slutty black women! DID YOU KNOW THEY HAVE BABIES OUT OF WEDLOCK??” Did you know, “W,” that about 12% of black men aged 25-29, prime marrying age, are in prison? Did you ever consider the idea that a lack of black men means that there’s a relative surplus of black women, and from a black man whose value has just shot up on the marriage market, that there’s no reason to buy the cow if he can get the milk for free? But no! Clearly the reason is that black women are just sluts! And clearly, CLEARLY, the reason nobody talks about it isn’t that most people don’t give a flying fuck as long as those blacks keep to their own kind, but it’s that in this PC atmosphere, we’re just too scared of saying the truth! That if we just all went and TOLD those black girls to stop being so slutty, they’d stop!
There’s having thoughtful, honest opinions, and there’s knee-jerk, simplistic reactions. You sound like the latter. You’re judgmental. You’re too quick and too eager to judge. I hope you don’t decide to thank me for that one.

if you actually want to change opinions or express an important idea, offending people is not the way to go.

I like widelawns, when she writes like widelawns. As soon as I started reading VA which was after I had been reading WL for about a year, I realized where the self entitled posts a WL where coming from. She was trying to use VA’s formula to get herself some controversy. All of a sudden her posts went from funny, original, cool stories about her family and people around her to “I own property, I am in shape, I eat right, bla bla bla” Correct me if I’m wrong but back when WL was about rich, snobby assholes in S. Florida, she just to spend whole paragraphs talking about food. Yeah, the food might have been healthy, but she made it seem like she she ate tons of it, hell she went to an important event one day just so she could eat what they had there (if you are a reader you will also remember that she went so far as to buy an expensive suit, only to return it the next day just so she could attend). I, being the judgmental bitch that I am, thought she was fat all along!!! I laughed my ass off the other day when she said she had made Cheesesteaks from scratch!!!!! Are you fucking kidding me oh and then she stopped because she felt that she was eating like an asshole!!! hahahahaha please you are choking yourself you are so full of shit. How about the daily trips to DQ when your husband fell ill, did you stop yourself then too and say I’m eating like a fucking asshole!!!!

If there are lonely, incredibly stupid and delusional men that are falling for that then they got what they deserved, and quite frankly I see nothing wrong with that. It isn’t like they are robbing the men at gunpoint on the street corner, and I don’t see a lot of cases of the women being sued for fraud, so it looks like the men are the problem here, not the women.
