As a New Yorker, I am slightly offended by those who make light of 9/11… although I am offended far more by the media mongrels who make major motion pictures to make money off of it and play it up like it’s the first sign of the Apocalypse and we should all stock up on water and iPods before the terrorists come for you next.
I’m even more offended when people lament about it because they think they ‘have’ to.
If people cared about it as much as they proclaim than they’d do something more than sob about it on a blog post, only to completely forget about the event until 356 days later. Bloody disgrace.
Hahaha.. that’s hilarious. That guy should come out with a catalog of offensive costumes… I think this year I’m going to go to my annual halloween party as zombie princess Diana.
I don’t think anyone’s making light of 9/11, it goes without saying that most of us agree it was a horrible tragic thing. At the same time, I think that people exploit tragedy for attention. Call me crazy but being a New Yorker doesn’t make 9/11 any more tragic for you than it was for anyone else. I lived in NYC for two years, as did most of the people I know (I’m from Jersey…admitting that makes my tummy hurt) it affected all of us, but I don’t see any need to make a holiday out of it. It seems like any time I’m hanging out with New Yorkers, it’s like a contest to see who was closer to the towers on 9/11 and who has the most tragic story….wierd.
Best story ever.
In my indignant rage, I completely forgot to comment on his choice of attire.
That guy is my hero.
