Because I often make sexual comments about women on this website, my sexuality has come into question. For some strange reason, people seem to want to know whether or not […]

My ideal woman would be Kate Moennig. I literally drool everytime I watch her in the L Word.
A. Lesbians are much more likely to not fall into category 1. At least in my scientifically sampled experience. And by that I mean I’ve slept with a lot of girls.
B. Jodhi May is in the BBC adaptation of Tipping the Velvet. Do yourself a favor and skip the first two sections, then watch the third on mute. I had naughty, naughty dreams for weeks. Also: Layer Cake.
C. There are dykes who would be perfectly happy not to talk to you. I’m not sure how to find them, though. Actually, I retract that statement. Women are annoying, but for me personally, they are less annoying than men.
I’ve traveled down the road of relationships with women. Oh hell no I will NEVER do that again. I’ll fuck ‘em but dating ‘em is another story. TOO much drama and beyond attention whores. One girl ran off to Reno one weekend cause I had to housesit and couldn’t come see her. Only thing is the next weekend she moved in with a girl she met in Reno.
To shut a man up you turn on a t.v. and it’s too difficult for him to argue and watch t.v. at the same time or bitch and complain. Problem solved.
-10 points for “hide under the refrigerator”. Ruined the whole article for me.
“According to my gay friend (who could be totally yanking my chain in a sneaky attempt to make me look like an idiot on my own website), I am not bisexual. I am queer. Apparently, there is a difference.
My friend insists that queer folk just enjoy fucking people of both sexes while bisexuals would be happy in a long term relationship with either a man or a woman. If his assertion is accurate, then he pegged me correctly.”
To me, queer = lesbian or gay. It’s a general term used to describe people who consider themselves lesbian or gay. Having nothing to do with bisexuals.
A bisexual has the ability to have sex with, and more importantly, fall in love with a man or woman.
The “Just enjoy fucking people” is up to the individual. I’ll let you label that as you will. But in my humble opinion your friends definition of queer is incorrect.
Tristan Taormino uses ‘queer’ in a way that supports your/your friend’s usage:
http://www.villagevoice.com/people/0319,taormino,43795,24.html
“Speaking of blurring rigid boundaries, queers investigate and interrogate gender constructs like nobody’s business, and in some cases, we’ve even reinvented gender. From gay male bears, faeries, drag queens, and twinkies to lesbian butches, femmes, girlfags, and bois-with-an-i-not-with-a-y, we are at the forefront of the gender revolution thanks to our ability to self-identify and to create our own permutations of masculinity, femininity, androgyny, and beyond. “
Just to first say this as a first time poster, I stumbled across VA in the last week I’m now completely addicted. I can’t wait for my RSS reader to show a new post…
So as far as the “queer” definition is concerned, I have a couple perspectives on it. Covering it from the etymology direction, the term originates several centuries ago as “strange” and was later used as a slur by straight people to describe gay folk in the last century. So, as Kelly notes, V’s friend is being way too particular. But considering that original definition (and my appreciation that language use changes over time), I think we could easily add bi’s to the queer umbrella. However I would be loathe to displace the original meaning as V’s friend seemingly has.
Now onto Kelly’s bisexual definition. To quote the venerable Tina Turner, what’s love got to do with it? We don’t need to conflate love and sex anymore than we need to conflate Saddam to 9/11. They are distinct, and the word “sex” within bisexual should steer you in the right direction.
Man, I used to think the misogynist woman thing was totally awesome and edgy, back when I was 15 and reading The Misanthropic Bitch.
Now it’s just kind of old.
Doesn’t surprise me, V is sort of a tomboy.
Contrary to popular perception, most of the bisexual/gay women I’ve met have been surprisingly feminine, even if they sported the short-hair-no-makeup-military-clothes uniform.
“My friend insists that queer folk just enjoy fucking people of both sexes while bisexuals would be happy in a long term relationship with either a man or a woman.”
No no no no no no! No.
Queer folk enjoy fucking people of the SAME sex.
Bisexual folk enjoy fucking people of BOTH sexes.
I don’t know a single queer - male or female (and I know hundreds!) - who would not recoil in horror at the thought of being in a long term relationship with a person of the opposite sex.
Bisexuals would certainly be willing.

I don’t know where this confusion has come from in the last five or ten years. It used to be very clear - black and white, up or down, liberal or conservative. But since gay culture has begun to move into the mainstream these lines are becoming blurred, and for those of us who are older it’s quite unsettling.
For the youngsters, well it’s all new, isn’t it? I find a real satisfaction in seeing the open attitude and acceptance of “nontraditional” lifestyles and relationships among the younger generation. It’s an indication of the social progress since the horror of the pre-protease inhibitors AIDS Plague.
But I still don’t understand why gay women hate men - perhaps it’s genetic?
so yeah…I’m totally down for no talking or anything so if you ever come out to Ca you should really call me. Believe me, I’m not a category 1 or a category 2 for the sake that I hate guys and I dont’ have to talk. I’m down for getting into the scheme of things right off the bat. Check me out on my website and let me know if I’m “different” enough for you.
